Qing Han is a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of California, Riverside, with a specialisation in archaeology. Her research centers on Mesoamerican archaeology, with a particular focus on the ancient Maya city of Copán, Honduras. She employs zooarchaeological and stable isotope methods to investigate human–animal relationships, ritual practices, and human–environment dynamics. She has extensive field experience, having participated in archaeological excavations in China, Israel, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
